- Akutain, Crianza 2014$25.00
The Akutain Crianza is comprised of mostly Tempranillo with Garnacha, is fermented in fiberglass vats with native yeasts, and then raised for 1 year and 9 months in used American oak barrels, with an additional year in the bottle before release - far exceeding the Rioja D.O.’s aging requirements for Crianza wines.
- Frank Cornelissen 'Susucaru' Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT$25.00Out of stock
Azienda Agricola Frank Cornelissen is a Sicilian wine producer with a reputation for its strict adherence to minimal-intervention winemaking practices. It makes wines from local varieties, chiefly Nerello Mascalese, but does not produce under the Etna DOC, preferring to use the Terre Siciliane IGT designation. Winemaker and founder Frank Cornelissen moved from Belgium to Sicily in 2000 and established the estate, experimenting with natural winemaking from the beginning. The property covers 25 hectares (62 acres), most of which is vineyards, although there are some olive groves and orchards. These range between 1900-3200ft (580-980m) above sea level on the slopes of Mount Etna. The vines are all free-standing bush vines and many are planted on their own roots. Cornelissen is certified organic for its farming practices, but the practices of the estate go much further towards minimal intervention and natural production than most organic and biodynamic certifications require.
- Hiyu, Smokeshop Band Pinot Noir$30.00
Smockshop Band is an exploration of the Columbia Gorge. The Gorge contains a diverse range of landscapes within a small area. It was this multitude of potential places to make wine that drew us to the Gorge. We've been working on developing relationships with growers and landowners who share our vision of farming. We now lease and farm twenty acres of land outside of Hiyu and purchase fruit from an additional few more. All of the vineyards are farmed naturally and allow us access to the full spectrum of possible flavors from high altitude, cool climate sites on the western end of the Gorge to the more Mediterranean, desert influenced sites to the east.
- La Carrodilla, Canto de Luna 2018$20.00Out of stock
Varietals: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Shiraz, 10% Tempranillo. Winemaker: Gustavo Gonzalez. Region: Valle de Guadalupe. Fermentation: 9 months in French and American oak. Visual: Medium transparency, of red pomegranate color with ruby gleams, and a medium apparent density. Nose: Raspberry jam, tobacco, freshly cut red berries, refined wood, vanilla and blackberries. Taste: Dry, amicable, franc, acidity and tannins well-balanced, medium length.
- Domaine Bousquet, Chardonnay Tupungato Unoaked 2019$15.00
Domaine Bousquet’s premium varietal series comprises a blend of estate and purchased fruit from the Uco Valley. The grapes benefit from major diurnal temperature swings, achieving exuberant ripeness while retaining the juiciness that invites a second glass. The wines are vinified with a French sensibility. The wines are un-oaked – an on-trend sensibility of little or no oak to let the fruit shine through and make the wines extremely food-friendly. 100% Unoaked Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel in contact with lees. Tasting Notes: Light yellow with green shades. On the nose, it presents aromas of tropical fruits with citrus and floral notes. On the palate shows concentrated notes of peach and green apple with fresh acidity. It is ideal to drink as an aperitif and with seafood, fish and goat cheese.
- A.D. Beckham, Amphora Riesling 2018$21.00
Beckham Estate Vineyard is dry-farmed, which means no irrigation water is applied to the vineyard. Annedria and Andrew believe their children should be able to play freely on the land, therefore only organic viticulture is practiced. Andrew meticulously manages the cover crop rotation, trellising and vine positioning. Grape yields play a significant part in the character of the wines and have been lower in recent vintages, averaging 1.8 tons per acre. All grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard. In 2013, Andrew began practicing whole cluster fermentation, which can contribute distinctly spicy aromas. His style of winemaking promotes savory qualities, balanced by pure varietal fruit aromas. Each wine is fermented and aged on its lees.
- Stamnaki, Assyrtiko$16.00Out of stock
Grower: Denthis Vintage: 2018 Grapes: Assyrtiko 100% Appellation: PGI Peloponnese Alcohol: 12% Bottle: 750ml Viticulture: Low intervention Vinification: Typical white vinification in stainless steel Notes: Juicier and fruitier than a typical Assyrtiko, with its signature acidity backbone refreshing the palate
- County Line, Syrah 2016$32.00Out of stock
The 2016 County Line Syrah from the Sonoma Coast is deeply concentrated - an almost opaque ruby with a blue hue. An intoxicating nose of black fruit including tart plum, blackberry and fresh black cherry are first identified. More subtle tones of dates and Kir liqueur follow. Complex even in its youth, this Syrah moves quickly to earthier tones. Fresh turned earth is prevalent on the nose along with a hint of leather. Wet stone adds texture and a mineral verve to the wine. Finally, an unmistakable juniper scent weaves its way through savory aromas of peppercorn and black olive
- Movia, Turno Malval$32.00
The Turno Malval is 100% Malvasia and spends 60 hours of cold maceration in maceration in ox tank then the wine ages in barrels for 8 months. Until it is bottled, no sulphur or any other conservatives are added. Thus, the wine has gone through all-natural processes and becomes sound and stable naturally, ready to last one lifetime of ours. It is then aged in big oak barrels (Slovenian oak) and 3-4 months in the bottle.
- Nicolini, Piccola Nera 2017$24.00
An elegant nose, full of raspberries, sugar cookies and earth, almost reminiscent of walking into a flower shop, leads to a delicate, airy palate of crabapple, forest floor and lilac. Hand harvested in small baskets, macerated on the skins for 48-72 hours, spontaneous native yeast fermentation, traditional hand-crank press, aged eight months in large oak barrels, bottled unfiltered w/less than 50mg/l of total sulfur.
- Swick Wines, City Pop Petillant Naturel$30.00Out of stock
Viognier grown on sandy loam from Yakima, Washington in the Columbia Valley at 1600 feet elevation. Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir from different sites grown on sandy loam, volcanic soils, and marine sediment from the Willamette Valley in the Oregon at 600-1000 feet elevation. Viognier and Pinot Noir were direct pressed and fermented separately using native yeast. Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Auxerrois, and Pinot Gris were fermented separately with 14 days of skin maceration using native yeast. Ferments are worked by foot one to two times a day with no temp control. Disgorged. A small sulfur addition before bottling is the only addition to this wine. No filtration.
- Art + Science, Pinot Noir Petillant Naturel$24.00Out of stock
This sparkling rosé was made from Pinot Noir grapes from a small vineyard called Morning Mist where Dan has been consulting in organic and biodynamic farming practices. Morning Mist is in theMcMinnville AVA and sits at 700’ elevation facing directly into the VanDuzer Corridor. It is very likely one of the latest ripening vineyards in all of the Willamette Valley, making it a perfect site for sparkling wine! The fruit was picked relatively early, at lower sugars and higher acidity. Unfiltered, contains lees – pour off slowly or invert to evenly distribute. Bottled via the Pétillant-naturel or méthode ancestrale, process. This process is where the product is bottled before it finishes it’s final fermentation, thus producing a naturally carbonated beverage. Wild fermented, no sulfur added
- Moscado$20.00
