Linda came to fine art about 15 years ago and hasn't slowed down since — moving from colored pencils to acrylics, teaching others along the way. She paints what moves her: sunsets, shadows, people living their lives, flowers, wildlife. Jordan Flower grew up in a military family, constantly moving — and you can feel all of it in his work. He's drawn to the places where the built world meets the natural one, and the way light, artificial or otherwise, transforms both. Theresa Halpin works in oils, drawn mainly to the landscape and what happens to light at the edges of the day. Her skies in particular — the way she renders color through a sunset — have a warmth and luminosity that stops you. She's also a volunteer artist with Art for the Journey, a Richmond nonprofit that brings artmaking to veterans, kids, and underserved communities. Mike Haubenstock, based in Glen Allen, Virginia, paints Modern Impressionist landscapes and still lifes in oil. He is inspired by architecture, natural scenes and colorful displays. In recent years he has spent more time with plein air work, which includes the challenges of moving shadows and colors. Mary Ellen McFadden is a portrait and landscape painter with a gift for catching light and personality in the same breath — whether she's painting a face or a field. A member of the James River Art League, her work appears regularly in regional exhibitions including the Autumn in Ashland Artists' Showcase, which makes her a natural fit on our walls. She's one of our local ones.

Judy Motley paints the things that hold still long enough to reward a close look — landscapes, animals, botanicals, still life. Her approach is rooted and realistic, with a quiet attention to the natural world.

Debbie Salvant works in abstract, mixed media, and collage — and sometimes takes it a step further by finishing pieces in resin, giving them a depth and luminosity you don't often see. Her work is tactile, layered, and genuinely one of a kind. There's nothing else on our walls quite like it.

Ingrid Stenbjorn paints in oils with an eye for the quietly observed moment — a bicycle leaning against a sun-warmed wall, a curtain lifting in an open window, a landscape caught in the right light. Her interiors and landscapes share the same quality: stillness with a pulse.

Susannah Wagner Merritt finds beauty in the places most people walk past without a second glance — a quiet corner, a familiar street, an overlooked view. She paints both in the studio and in plein air, taking her work on the road and finding the same sense of wonder whether she's close to home or somewhere new.
