Ironically coming from the single-vineyard named “Les Jardins de Meunier”, this Blanc de Blancs definitively has no Pinot Meunier in it, and is simply singing right now. Antoine is a young grower-producer who farms 2.5 hectares of grapes under strict biodynamic principles making singular wines from his favorite parcels. The extra-brut “Carkonnia” is a richer Chardonnay having been vinified and aged for 24 months in wooden barrel. It’s plush and creamy but still electric with a soft and uplifting perlage. It’s a real showstopper, and very limited as only 1200 bottles were produced!

For those of you who want all of the pomp-and-circumstance of a grower champagne but would prefer to stay south of $40, this is your hole in one. The Jura valley has an incredible history of viticulture which can sometimes be confused as one focusing on more oxidative-styled white wines; however, this 100% chardonnay is not that in the least. It is pure and crystalline with tons of aromatic and flavor complexity reminiscent of its more famous sparkling-wine neighbor to the north. The Brut Zero means there is no addition of sugar during secondary fermentation which makes this style laser-focused and mineral-rich. One unique fact about this wine is that the wine always come from one single vintage but are labeled non-vintage. This vintage produced a scant 15,000 bottles which are always allocated.

This Chardonnay isnÕt your average Jura Chardonnay. What I love about this organic producer is more of a penchant to producing Burgundian-style wines like you find in Meursault more than the abundantly nutty, oxidative style that most associate with most Jura producers. Arbois has the perfect cool-climactic conditions and unique mountainous schist soils to produce top-notch, age-worthy Chardonnays that fly under the radar next to its more popular neighbor Burgundy. Because the Jura valley is so small, production is very low, and prices are not always that much different from what you see from Burgundy, so this is a steal and a fantastic way to experience the region!

Situated beneath the 1er Cru Perrires, "Les Nosroyes" lies on a stony hillside whose name was derived from the old French term "Noieroie," signifying a place planted with walnut trees. The grapes for this wine come from plot planted in 1960 with an East/West orientation, reaching an altitude of 240 meters. Hand-harvested in small pierced boxes, the grapes undergo meticulous vinification processes, including slow and gentle pressing for four hours, followed by 24 hours of settling and racking in 350-liter oak barrels for alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aging on lees extends for 10 to 12 months, with additional blending in stainless steel vats for 2 to 4 months. The resulting wine displays a pale yellow color with intense aromas of citrus fruits and vine peach on the nose. On the palate, it reveals a beautiful acidity that enhances persistent citrus notes, imparting extra length and complexity to the wine.

The Tissot Arbois Chardonnay Patchwork is a crisp white wine from the Arbois region, made from Chardonnay grapes. Its vibrant flavor profile features hints of citrus and green apple, making it a refreshing choice for any occasion.

This new bottle beautifully showcases the unique character of the Pecorino grape, one of Italy's ancient and rare varietals. Grown in the hilly vineyards of Abruzzo, this Pecorino reflects the regionÕs distinctive terroir, combining fresh mountain air and mineral-rich soils. This wine presents a vibrant and layered profile, opening with aromas of green apple, lemon zest, and white flowers, underscored by subtle hints of sage and crushed stone. On the palate, itÕs simultaneously electric and richly textured, balancing bright acidity with a creamy, rounded mouthfeel that gives way to a mineral-driven finish. Delicious at a crab broil!

The "Iri" from Gorrondona is a great example of Honorrabi Zuri showing its best. Coming from high altitude vines grown on poor soils, the wine is full bodied and made completely still in contrast to the more common frizzante style from the region. With no added sulfites, this is also considered to be a natural wine.

A very unique white made from Palamino grapes grown in coastal Mediterranean soils which lends to the saline texture. Cool diurnal temps helps this wine retain freshness and acidity, while it is aged in used Madeira barrels that give this wine nutty, dried orange flavors. A wine for a complex Portuguese fish stew, Bacalaitos (fried fish balls), or with rosemary encrusted Manchego cheese.

Mallorcan wines are seeing their day in the sun recently and Tomeu Llabres is a superstar winemaker with his microwinery CaÕn Verdura which he built in an old garage set next to his vineyards. This rare and complex island white wine has a slight pink hue and is medium bodied with a profile of citrus, chamomile, fresh herbs, fennel, and white fruit notes, which provide great freshness. Production is very limited as every bottle in this tiny garage winery is sold each vintage.

Pardevalles Albarín Blanco is a refreshing white wine known for its crisp and lively flavors. It's perfect for enjoying with light dishes or simply sipping on a sunny afternoon.

<p>As some of you may know, we are big supporters of Weingut Keller wines (also currently serving their very first Westhšfen Sylvaner by the glass!). When supporting in the capacity thatÊLeÊMidiÊdoes, we are offered the more rare bottles, and this 375 mL bottle of PIUS Auslese is one of these gems. This bottle is only produced in years where the rare mold botryitis affects the grapes skins producing a concentrated and honeyed style of wine that are breathtaking in their complexity, and which require an incredible amount of patience during fermentation due to the snail-like pace it takes to complete. The 2022 is a blockbusterÊ<em>Auslese</em>Êfilled with papaya, pineapple, grapefruit and honeysuckle with a touch of baking spice at the end.</p>

Located in the prized winemaking region of Herzogovina, this light white varietal is your everyday drinking white but with tons of personality. Karate champion turned winemaker, Oliver Mandari_, took over his family winery in 2014 and upgraded it producing wines translating the rocky terrain of their estate vineyards. Bright and refreshing, it's great with seafood and warmed brie.

This beautiful Albari–o is the only white wine made by Rosemary Cakebread (yes, of that Cakebread) at her Gallica winery. Seeing both stainless steel and oak during fermentation, this is a layered and complex Albari–o full of white rose and sea salt alongside lime and tropical fruit. This is a phenomenal wine on its own but would also be a great addition to shellfish and sushi.

From Massican, "Tocai Friulano 43%, Ribolla Gialla 34%, Chardonnay 23%. Our flagship white wine blend is sourced from small vineyards around the Napa Valley. The three grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Chardonnay, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French Oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai and Ribolla build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wineÕs structure. Annia is fresh and subtle and fulfills the promise set forth years ago to bottle memorable white wines unique among the wines of California."

Ceritas wines transport me to an imaginary world of grape splendor every time I hear the name. Amidst the abundance of 'classic' California Chardonnay, Ceritas stands out redefining this varietal alongside a select few while echoing its noble origins in Burgundy. Crafted by the husband-and-wife team, John Raytek and Phoebe Bass, these wines narrate the story of the land. Sourced from meticulously tended, biodynamically-farmed vineyards that capture California's cool-climate terroir, ÒMarenaÓ shows aromas of ripe orchard fruits, citrus, and delicate florals while the palate unravels vibrant acidity and nuanced minerality seamlessly. Its graceful texture is a result of extended lees aging in neutral barrels revealing the team's meticulous craftsmanship. It will also develop beautifully with extra cellaring. This unique gem is meant to be savored with nothing but a zest for life. Act fast; only 12 bottles were made available!

Anything winemaker Angela Osborne makes, we are big fans of. Angela is a native to New Zealand and came to the cool-climate of Central California focusing solely on the Grenache varietal. This is her way-too-easy to drink rosé that she perfects every year, and 2023 is no exception! Angela’s wines are always mildly extracted and delicate to accentuate the floral nuances and to allow the minerality to shine through. Full of youthful raspberry and strawberry with hints of anise and the <em>sur-lie</em> aging brings out a wonderful creamy texture to complement the bright fruits.

Chateau Marsac Seguineau Margaux is a fantastic Bordeaux with roots dating back to 1886. The coronet on the label honors the Count Seguineau who believed the name "Marsac Seguineau" better represented the estate's elegance. Recognized as a top cru bourgeois in Ferret's 6th edition in 1893, the chateau continues its legacy of excellence. With a terroir of gravelly soil and a cool maritime climate, the wine showcases aromas of dark fruit, spice, and tobacco. Its palate offers ripe blackberry, cassis, and hints of cedar and violet. Hand-harvesting and oak aging further enhance its complexity, making Chateau Marsac Seguineau Margaux a must-try for lovers of premium Bordeaux.

Christian Venier's "LeÊClos des Carteries" is a wonderfully crafted blend of 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot noir sourced from prized 40-year-old vines selected from the 8-hectare parcel named "LeÊClos des Carteries" in Cheverny. The vineyard is cultivated biodynamically with utmost respect for soil health. Following semicarbonic maceration with whole clusters, the wine ages on lees in cement tanks before bottling, with no added SO2. Venier's non-interventionist winemaking approach emphasizes gentle extraction, resulting in wines celebrated for their purity, silky texture, and fruity freshness. As a well-kept secret of the region, Venier's wines are sure to gain broader recognition in the near future.

Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre blend dominated by grenache (usually around 80%) with syrah (usually under 10%) and mourvdre (usually around 10-15%). The red Ch‰teauneuf-du-Pape is a blend from plots in lieu-dit ÒFarguerolÓ grapes from plot in the neighboring ÒPied de BaudÓ lieu-dit. 28 day Maceration.The Syrah is aged in big wooden barrels (about 300l) and the Grenache and Mourvdre in tronconic wooden barrels (600l) for 18 months.

Renowned for transforming Muscadet through early adoption of organic and biodynamic practices, Domaine de l'Ecu has a legacy of single-soil, pure-expressions of terroir. WithÊLove & Grapes, Niger extends his philosophy beyond the Loire Valley to Southern Rh™ne. The 2019 TrinityÑa blend of Syrah, Grenache, and CarignanÑbrings together vibrant Mediterranean flavors of dark berries, black olive, and violets, with earthy nuances. Great for a lamb stew or Mediterranean couscous.

This iconic cuvee of the Domaine is only produced in good vintages, in limited quantities. Produced from a strict plot selection and manual harvesting, it brings the finesse of our favorite grape variety to its peak, through dedicated vinification and maturation, which emphasize the northern character of its expression on our high-altitude terroir. Aromas of cherries in brandy and sweet spices, with a floral development on hawthorn and peony. Silky from the attack, with red fruit and white pepper flavors, a lot of finesse, a little smoky touch, and a fresh cherry pit finish.

The Cosse Et Maisonneuve Le Combal is a Malbec wine from the Cahors AOC region, known for its deep and rich flavors. It's a great choice if you're looking to explore French wines with a bold character.

Ruby red in colour. Olfactory impact intense and fruity, with hints of cherry and wild berries. To the palate it is dry, balanced and well structured. The freshness provided by the Sangiovese gives it an excellent drinkability. A quality table wine that goes well with flavoursome first courses (ravioli, risotto, tagliatelle); red meat and mature cheeses.

Elisabetta Foradori's journey in her Òwine lifeÓ resonates as a timeless tale, one where the grape doesn't fall far from the vine or the hand that cultivates it. Foradori's wines, like Elisabetta herself, embody striking elegance, a discerning taste, and a sincere, generous spirit. Despite her early reluctance, Elisabetta's path evolved through a process of intuition leading her to a holistic approach to winemaking. Coming from a tiny 2.5 hectare vineyard, Sgarzon is made from the regionÕs famous thin-skinned red varietal Teroldego. Though this wine may appear light in the glass, it is anything but! Powerful aromas of blood orange, violet, and pine coalesce into tart blue, black, and red fruits in this remarkable addition to ElisabetaÕs creations.

This 100% Nerello Mascalese comes from grapes grown in the lauded town of Passpisciaro on the northernmost slopes of Mt Etna in the contradaÊFeudo di Mezzo. Nerello Mascalase takes center stage in this area with its blended soil types of volcanic ash and sand along with various elevations and microclimates. This is a classically built Nerello full of red fruits, tobacco, red florals, anise, and is great for pairing with game and aged cheeses. It drinks perfectly right now at five years of age, but still has room to grow!

In the heart of the Alps in northern Italy rests the Valtellina appellation known for their own unique style of Nebbiolo known locally as Chiavanesca. This 6 hectare family-run estate is lead by a father and his two sons who focus primarily on this varietal along with other indigenous grapes used for blending. This natural wine is a blend of mostly Chivanesca with lesser parts of red and white varietals: R—ssola, Rossolino Rossa, Brugn˜la, Chiavennaschino, Pign˜la, Negrera, and Chiavanesca Blanca (youÕll be tested on these laterÉ). The 70-year-old vines contribute incredible complexity to this light bodied Alpine wine that ferments in concrete seeing no oak. The nose is lifted with aromas of cherries and raspberries with a medium-bodied floral palate expressing well integrated acidity and tannins. This is a great wine for those who like lighter chilled-reds with a fresh and elegant approach. Pairs perfectly with Cave Aged Gruyre or smoked Arctic Char.

Few names evoke the same kind of international allure as Angelo Gaja and Alberto Graci when it comes to the world of Italian wine, and this maiden collaboration is a great example as to why thatÕs true. This blend is crafted from old-vine Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grown on the southwestern slopes of Mount Etna, capturing the essence of its volcanic terroir. The label is inspired by the lava of the volcano where the vineyards thrive, and "idda," meaning "she" in the regional dialect, is how locals affectionately refer to the maternal volcano. Fermented and aged for 18 months in oak and concrete vats, this wine showcases vibrant aromas of cherry, mulberry, graphite, and spice. On the palate, it delivers bold flavors of bitter cherry and black currant, balanced by a pronounced minerality, and a long, peppery finish.

Conde de Hervias' Rioja truly exceptional and only made in the best vintages from fruit produced in the historical high-altitude single vineyard "Las Arenillas" consisting of all pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1874. This wine comes in minimal quantities and is highly sought after. The wine is 90% and 10% Graciano.

This wine is the starting point to understand and appreciate the complexity of the Galician terroir and its native grape varieties. Deliciously easy-drinking, Coto de Gomariz has wanted The Flower and the Bee to be enjoyed unapologetically! Shimmering violet. Smoke- and spice-accented cherry pit, blackberry and floral scents are complemented by hints of liquorice and succulent herbs. Nicely concentrated yet lively as well, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavours that slowly unfurl through the back half. Closes long and subtly chewy, with firming tannins and repeating spice and floral notes.

Josep Grau returned to his roots in Montsant in 2003 with a vision to craft wines that reflect his allegiance to the old vines and ancient terroir of this mountainous region. Committed to organic viticulture, his approach prioritizes the natural language of the vineyard, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides. GrauÕs philosophy centers on making exceptional wines with minimal intervention, allowing the soils to express themsleves fully. This field blend combines Garnacha Tinta, Cari–ena, Syrah, and other local varieties from 50-year-old vines. Uniquely aged in used Austrian oak, this wine embodies Mediterranean winemakingÑ fresh, herbaceous, spicy and evocative of classic Montsant.

Vi–a Sastre barely needs any introduction as it is considered to one of the most iconic wineries in Ribero del Duero. Creating some of the most age-worthy and complex Tempranillos from the region, they practice organic and biodynamic farming placing a strong emphasis on protecting the land and focusing on the health of the vines. The Reserva is big, bold, and beautiful having spent 14 months in a mix of French and American oak of which 70% is new so all of the dill, baking spices, and vanilla come through beautifully.

The grapes Mencia, Caino Blanco, and Espadeiro are are organically grown and naturally farmed undergoing spontaneous fermentation with native yeast in stainless steel before 12 months aging in neutral French oak. This wine is unfiltered, unfined with low SO2, and only native yeast influence, which is the winemaker's trademark style. Almost touching the Atlantic Ocean, ÒCaptain XureloÓ is a light chillable red with zippy brightness and lip smacking red fruit.

A collaboration between Graillot and Perez is a no-brainer. If you like Northern Rhone Syrah with a bit of a Spanish twist, this is the wine for you. We dare you to blind taste this and not call Syrah. It's a testament to the versatility of the Mencìa grape and the magic of these two rockstar winemakers.

The oldest historic records to mention the Quinta da Pellada date back to 1570. The D‹o was awarded DO status in 1908. Alvaro Castro inherited this historic estate in 1980. It's the source of his oldest vines, and best terroir. Like Castro's other reds, this is a field blend, aged for almost two years in 5 year-old french barrels. This is a serious wine of terroir, tightly wound, dense, and layered. It will repay time in the cellar. A pinnacle in the expression of the D‹o, this is not to be missed! Decant if drinking now, or hold through 2030+.

Antonio Madeira is a highly lauded French winemaker but of Portuguese descent and works to preserve traditional ancient field blends in the Dão. The 2018 “Tinto” has 30 different varietals including Alfocheiro, Baga, and Jaen (Mencia) dominating. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and spends 18 months in neutral oak. The wine is dominated by dark fruit and intense minerality, which comes from the vast amounts of granite soils of the vineyards.
