Sakae Sushi has been serving authentic Japanese cuisine in the Bay Area since 1995. After the restaurant's founder, Chef Hiro Endo, retired in September 2024, the tradition continues under new ownership by Taka Kawahara. Head Chef Jun Nozawa, who has been with Sakae since its inception, remains at the helm of the kitchen, ensuring the same high quality and dedication to fresh, premium ingredients. Sakae remains a beloved destination for sushi and sake lovers. Our sushi chefs source the freshest fish from around the world, including specialties imported directly from Japan.
