"A La Criolla" means Creole Style, but this is not to be confused with the popular New Orleans Creole style cooking. Puerto Rican Creole style sauce was introduced to the islands by the Spanish, and Blanca’s particular recipe has it’s origins in Lala’s cooking, her own style, and the use of fresh vegetables with a little kick. Tender shrimp cooked in a rich, savory tomato sauce seasoned with paprika, oregano, sofrito, and other Latin spices. Served with choice of rice and two sides.

Next #SancochoSunday is February 11, 2024. Sancocho is a meat based stew found in various countries along the Caribbean sea. It’s one of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic's most cherished family dishes. Many families create their own twist on the dish, but we of course believe Lala's recipe is one of the best :)! Our meat stew is made with chicken and beef. Along with various vegetables including winter squash, yuca, plantains, yams, yautia, corn on the cob and potatoes. It's served with a side of white rice and is available only on Sancocho Sunday. Our 32oz container and rice serves up to two.

Puerto Rican style creamy flan brought to you by our sister brand, CocoCanela. Flan is a rich dessert made of eggs, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and perfectly caramelized sugar. This traditional custard is a favorite of Puerto Ricans!

Tres Leches is a very popular Latin dessert, characterized by a light sponge cake with many air bubbles that soak up the tres leches (three milks) which it is soaked in. This gives it a distinctly soft texture without being soggy. Coco Canela makes this version with a phenomenal creamy topping with a hint of cinnamon. We receive a limited stock made fresh each week so get your order in while supply lasts!

A Casa de Lala creation! This sweet treat is a crunchy yet chewy fried dough similar to the best part of pie crust but with the taste of a churro and fried elephant ears like you’d get at a carnival! Sweet ribbons of cinnamon sugar yumminess.
