- 2020, Queen of the Sierra, Rorick Heritage Vineyards, Calaveras County, CA$52.00
Resembling the color of fresh watermelon juice, Forlorn Hope is an unfiltered/unfined blend of Zinfandel, Grenache, and Tempranillo from Calaveras County in eastern California. Winemaker Matthew Rorick uses fruit from the cool Sierra Foothills (at the edge of Stanislaus National Park), which is whole-cluster-pressed to old 60-gallon barrels where it awaits spontaneous fermentation and sits on the lees for several weeks through malo and until bottling. Forlorn is all-natural vino with nothing used in winemaking except hand-picked grapes. It's as juicy as the day is long (Quinn likened it to the "Gushers" gummies of his youth), with lots of tart cranberry, lemon, papaya, and rose hips. It's bright and vibrant and tastes like August.

- 2021, Chardonnay, Brea, Santa Lucia, CA$52.00
"The grapes went direct to press and the juice was barrel fermented using only native yeasts. The wine aged in neutral French Oak barrels for 6 months and went through full malolactic fermentation. Since we allow the wine to go through full malolactic fermentation, we pick early so it can maintain its natural acidity." - Brea "There are compelling aromas of chalk and clay on the nose of this appellation blend, along with bright scents of lime zest, grapefruit peel and butter. The palate is bolstered by lemony acidity and the fleshy mouthfeel delivers flavors of nectarine, Asian pear and more clay." - Matt Kettmann
- 2020, Chardonnay, Thevent & Fils, Saint-Veran, Macon, Burgundy, France$59.00Out of stock

- 2021, Chardonnay, Folk Machine, Brosseau Vineyard, CA$82.00
- 2020, Chardonnay, Matthiasson, Michael Mara Vineyard, CA$225.00
This is a wine borne from blood, sweat, and tears. The dream of planting our own vineyard from scratch verged on nightmare as we struggled with the rockiest soil we’ve experienced in 20 years of working in vineyards. It almost put us out of business. The rocks were finally surmounted and the vineyard produced its first crop, but we ended up having to mostly sell it to other wineries to cover the unanticipated expense of planting in the rocks. We were able to hold a small amount of fruit back for ourselves. The effort of planting was consummated by making the wine. It was clearly worth it. The rocky soil defines the wine, there is nothing else like it. The wine is 100 percent Chardonnay, clone 4 (the clone highest in natural acidity that we are aware of). It has the white peach, toasted almond or marshmallow, and ripe pear nose that is expected with Chardonnay, as well as plenty of weight, length, and richness. It is not showy, however — its opulence is in the soil
- 00 Wines, VGW, Chardonnay$183.00
Sauv Blanc - Riesling - other dry white
- 2020, Sauvignon Blanc, "La Rame", Bordeaux, France$51.00
The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed before fermenting with native yeast in stainless-steel tanks. The naturally high acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes blocks malolactic fermentation. The wine ages on the lees between 3 to 6 months in stainless steel after fermentation and is fined and filtered before bottling. It is bright and clean with aromas and flavors of limes, grapefruit and granny smith apples. Although it has plenty of acidity, there is a roundness to the wine that is a hallmark of Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux as compared to those from the Loire Valley or New Zealand. Body: Light pale gold color Smell: honey, peaches, grapefruit Taste: lemon, granny apple, honey Finish: crisp and short
- 2018 Melon de Bourgogne, La Pepiere "La Pepie" , Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine, Loire, France$42.00
This is a gorgeous, complex wine that shows intense pear and apple notes, some tropical fruit, and a touch of orange. Hints of baking spices and honey come through, as do minerals and a creamy layer from sur lie aging, or aging on the lees, which is typical of Muscadet.
- 2021, Pino Grigio, Ceccato, Delle Venezie, Italy$51.00

The entire vineyard is managed sustainably, and planted according to particular site-specificity. Although there are a total of 12 varieties planted, the Grenache plantings represent only 4% of the total vineyard – with five different Grenache clones planted. Tasting: Bright and snappy green tropical fruit meets a core of saline like minerality that quenches the thirst and keeps you thirsty for more. Zippy, bright, refrshing.
- 2020, Calabretta, Carricante, Terre Siciliane, Italy$61.00
Calabretta’s vineyards are located nearly a half mile above sea level in the black volcanic soils of Etna’s north slope, between Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia. There, Calabretta farms roughly seven hectares of mostly 70- to 80-year-old vines—many of them ungrafted—on stepped terraces supported by stone walls. The vineyard practices are rooted in the past. They avoid using chemical pesticides or herbicides, and they harvest by hand, starting around the second week of October. Fermentations are carried out exclusively with wild yeasts. the complexity that lies within Carricante — a grape that can yield one of Italy’s most compelling white wines. Look for crisp pear, violets, roasted almond and a distinct salty smell that is the “tell” of volcanic white wines from Etna. Tasting notes: Stony, Smooth, Medium Acidity, and fruit. Tart, dry finish

So much going on in this bottle. On the nose this dry white wine has hints of lemon, candied orange peel, spiced apricot, beeswax, mint and some floral notes.
- 2020, Sauvignon Blanc, Lucien Crochet, Sancerre, Loire, France$98.00
Lucien Crochet’s 2020 Sancerre is concentrated, brightly focused, and infused with rocky minerals. Body: Medium, medium-high acid Nose: Grass, citrus, mineral, white flowers Palate: Dry, grapefruit pith, honey, chalk, mandarin orange with a refreshing finish
- 2021, Chenin Blanc, Dom. Huet, Loire Valley France 2021$119.00

The 2019 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Sec offers a deep, rich yet pure and refined, intensely aromatic, darker-toned nose with aromas of fully ripe stone and tropical fruit intertwined with earthy, chalky and yeasty notes that make up for further finesse and complexity. Full-bodied, round and fruity on the palate, this is a deep, intense, juicy, silky-textured yet tight, chalky, very complex, sustainably structured and persistently salty-mineral Chenin from old vines that give extra concentration as well as a spectacularly expressive character. This is a great, age-worthy Vouvray with fine tannins and lingering salty tension and finesse. An excellent finish. The 2019 needs a while to gain finesse and even more complexity.
- 2020, Ceritas “Bailchache”, Sonoma coast, CA$145.00
This is a wine you will only find at fine restaurants and the winery itself. Sancerre-like, very lean and with racy acidity. Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet are a tag-team husband and wife duo that organically farm together in Maury in France. They make a number of wines, with the reds primarily a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignane. Their greatest goal of winemaking is to bring a sense of place to the glass from the vine. By helping the local cooperative’s growers understand the benefits of sustainable farming, limited yields and harvesting before the grapes are over-mature, Marjorie and Stéphane are aiming to raise the general quality of wine in their appellation. The wines of Roc des Anges frequent the lists of some of the top Michelin-starred restaurants of Europe. The 2020 is incredibly bright- a terrific blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignane, harvested from ancient parcels in the Roussilon. It’s vibrant with aromas of wild black raspberries and sweet spices. The mid palate is rich and velvety, with a core of sweet black fruit that finishes fresh, long and silky.

- 2017, Tommaso Bussola, ca'del laito, Valpolicella Ripasso, Veneto, Italy$79.00Out of stock
- 2015 Sky, Mt. Veeder, Sky Vinyards, Napa Valley Zinfanel$104.00
- 2019, Syrah, Pax Mahle, Sonoma-Hillsides, Sonoma County, CA$122.00
Fresh aromas of blackberry liqueur, roasted earth, black licorice, black pepper and hickory smoke. This is what Syrah smells and tastes like. Rich, supple, incredibly textured and so delicious. Nothing is out of place here, loads of fruit, Indian spices, savory umami, sweet fruit and a textural lightness that is typically unseen in the standard goofball California Syrah that favors weight over complexity
- 2017, Syrah, Domaine Champet "La Vialliere", Cote-Rotie, Rhone, France$133.00
On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with an excellent core of fruit, fine soil signature, firm, chewy tannins and a long, promising and still quite primary finish.
- 2017, Syrah, Domaine Rostaing "Les Lezardes Rouge", Rhone, France$92.00
Notes of raspberries adding welcome complexity to the gentle cherry flavors. Medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins, it finishes taut and crisp, a lovely expression of Northern Rhone Syrah.
- 2018, Syrah, Domaine Rostaing "Les Lezardes Rouge", Rhone, France$112.00
- 2012, Syrah, Scribe Winery, Sonoma Coast, CA$159.00
Andrew and Adam believe that the best wines are a result of a healthy relationship between man and nature, and that a vineyard managed in harmony with the greater ecosystem results in more site-specific wines that represent a sense of time and place. When vinified with non-interventionist methods, the result is a distinct wine that faithfully reflects what the vineyard naturally expresses.
- 2018, Syrah, Domaine Champet "La Vailliere", Cote-Rotie, Rhone, France$145.00
2018 was a warmer vintage than 2017. Rich and powerful on the palate with black fruit followed by smoky gamines. Rich tannins, smoke, leather, floral over fruit. Earth
- 2013, Syrah, Bernard Levet "Les Journaries", Cote-Rotie, France$189.00
This wine shows a bouquet of violets, wild berries, a touch of animal and resinous-like tannins that speak of the inclusion of stems which is a Levet hallmark.
- 2012, Saint-Joseph, J.I. Chave, Farconnet, Rhone Valley, France$196.00
Brilliant ruby. Smoke and spice accented dark berries, olive and licorice on the pungent nose. Subtly sweet blackberry and cherry flavors show excellent clarity and energy and pick up a sexy floral quality with aeration. Displays excellent delineation, a gracefully light touch and powerful mineral lift on the persistent, gently tannic finish, which features lingering notes of bitter cherry pit and candied violet.
