Mustang Pit-Stop is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization that provides customized training and social networking opportunities to formerly incarcerated and at-risk adults. The goal is to empower these individuals by educating them to become successful entrepreneurs in the mobile food service industry. Through formal training programs, Mustang Pit-Stop teaches clients the skills needed to think and function as competent business owners. Those who complete the training program are then provided with a fully-licensed and outfitted mobile food business as tenants. Rather than merely receiving a business education, participants earn ownership of their own food truck business through contributing labor. Within its first year of operations, Mustang Pit-Stop aims to take on over 30 client cases to help reformed ex-criminals launch new careers as self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
